I am excited to announce we have hired Katie Yates to oversee this year’s Signs of Hope campaign “Hope Begins Here!”Katie grew up in Portland, Oregon, and first moved to Vancouver, Washington in 2016. Her passion for communication led her to pursue a degree in Integrated Strategic Communication at Washington State University Vancouver. She graduated in 2018 and was awarded Communicator of the Year. During that time she co-founded another campaign, providing her great insight for this role.
Katie came highly recommended by Elizabeth Candello, a WSU-Vancouver Clinical Assistant Professor who works in the Strategic Communications department, and she has been making positive ripples in the Vancouver, Washington community and beyond. Candello, who is impressed with Yates’ work, said, “Katie is a great communicator with a devotion for community and a heart for non-profit work.” Katie connects to the cause because she sees how great the need is to unite communities to combat suicide and disperse hope. Yates has worked in the nonprofit industry, consulting, events, architecture and planning, and has found community work to be a continued value in her life.
Keep an eye on your inbox, because Katie is off to a fabulous start!
